Väsinud Päikeseloojang / Tired Sunset

Tired sunsets and the tired
people -
it takes a lifetime to die and
no time at
all (Bukowski)

Tired sunset (2019) is a painting created onto a 109x153cm reclaimed plywood sheet. Some of the materials include acrylics, oil pastels and charcoal. The painting has been created 2018-2019.

This painting has been titled after a poem by Bukowski as it best describes the anxiety, fear and freedom of living in a world where anything is possible and nothing really matters.

It has been created as a response to many well known artworks, such as Konrad Mägi's 'Landscape with a Red Cloud' (1913-1914), Edvard Munch's 'Melancholy' (1892) and Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss' (1907-1908).

Exhibited at the solo show Vaid tean, et kus?kil kodu / I just know, somewhere? is home from 14/01/21 - 31/08/21 at Hestia Hotel Europa, Tallinn, Estonia.
